Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Attends Africa Day Reception in Riyadh

Riyadh: On behalf of Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister Eng. Walid bin Abdul Karim Al-Khuraiji participated in a reception marking the annual Africa Day, held at the Culture Palace in the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, upon his arrival at the Palace of Culture, Al-Khuraiji was received by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti to the Kingdom, Dhia Eddine Bamakhrama, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Cameroon and President of the African Group, Aya Tijani.

In his speech, Al-Khuraiji emphasized the potential of Africa as a continent of opportunities, citing its natural resources, ambitious youth, and renewable potential. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the continent, such as conflict and climate change, but highlighted the enduring spirit of African cooperation and the aspirations of its people for peace, justice, and development.

He also outlined Saudi Arabia’s commitment to Africa, expressing the Kingdom’s aspiration to invest $25 billion in the continent, finance and insure $10 billion in exports, and provide $5 billion in additional development financing by 2030.
