Bui: School, Parents Say Military Rape Four Minors

Bui: The Principal of St. Joseph’s College in the Lassen-Noni Subdivision has written a formal complaint to the Divisional Officer of Noni Subdivision, alleging that some soldiers deployed to protect the area are now engaging in sexual activities with students who are all minors.

According to Cameroon News Agency, the letter states that several underage students have been approached by soldiers for romantic or sexual purposes, and there are reports that some learners have been sexually assaulted by the soldiers. The letter, which was jointly signed by the Principal, the Traditional ruler, and some parents, is dated November 17. It alleges that certain soldiers have provided mobile phones to these minors to maintain secret communication, worsening tension among students, parents, and school authorities.

The Principal has urged the Divisional Officer to take immediate action, warning that the matter has grown beyond the school’s ability to control. The letter, which Cameroon News Agency has obtained a copy of
