Yasutoshi to visit Namibia

Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Yasutoshi Nishimura, will have an official visit to Namibia for the first time on 07 to 08 August 2023.

According to a media statement issued on Friday by the Embassy of Japan, Nishimura will pay a courtesy visit to the President, Hage Geingob, where they will have a bilateral meeting as part of his visit.

The Japanese embassy stated that some of the officials that will be at the meeting include Minister of Industrialisation and Trade, Lucia Iipumbu, as well as Minister of Mines and Energy, Tom Alweendo, where discussions will focus on bilateral economic relations, including the minerals and hydrogen sector.

Furthermore, the embassy stated that the visit will strengthen existing relations between Japan and Namibia, while also pursuing new possibilities for business collaboration between the two countries and that after that, the minister will also visit Angola, DRC, Zambia and Madagascar.
