Cosmopolitan Douala is the economic heartbeat of Cameroon that harbours hundreds of companies and is a gateway into the country for important dignitaries, guests and investors. To better guide and take care of these visitors, the Douala Protocol and Consular Branch Office under the Littoral Delegation of External Relations, organised a four-day seminar for over 23 staff.
The objective is to provide these staff with protocol techniques that will enable them offer better services to Cameroon’s guests arriving and leaving the country through Douala. Retired Minister Plenipotentiary, His Excellency Epangue Koss, spoke on the importance of the Douala Protocol Department Branch saying: “More investors will be attracted into the country through quality services they render to Consuls, Plenipotentiaries, VIPs and investors.” Another Minister Plenipotentiary, His Excellency William Eyambe Eyambe, reiterated the role of the Douala Branch Office as crucial in wooing investors.
Speaking on the theme of the workshop: “Habits In Diplomatic Milieu,” the Head of the Douala Protocol and Consular Branch Office, Donancier Mebouogue, pointed out that training in best practices in diplomatic milieu will not only render administration efficient, but also improve the business environment in the country. Participants are expected to receive lectures on protocol and official ceremonies, customs exoneration, life in a diplomatic mission, protocol and foreign diplomats, among others.
