International media have such a great deal of interest in the TOTAL Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2019 that the volume of media accreditation applications is significantly higher than usual.
CAF can only welcome this exceptional enthusiasm and reminds that these are signs of a new governance marked by the significant progress of continental football and the outstanding achievements of African footballers around the world.
This is why CAF, today, is strengthening has the duty to strengthen its credentials system.
Like any major international institution organising major sporting events, the reception of journalists and media representatives is subject to strict rules that take into account professional criteria but also general aspects of the organisation, such as the configuration of press stands, commentary positions, traffic inside the stadium, security, access to desk areas, mixed zones and conference rooms.
CAF won’t entertain imposters masquerading as journalists under multiple identities, deviant behaviour in press stands, and disrespectful attitudes towards the organisation’s representatives (security guards, volunteers, hostesses, media officers…)
Concerning the accreditation system, it remains same: journalist, photographer and freelancers will have to go through the essential step of registration via the CAF Media Channel, on the CAF website (www.cafonline.com).
Applicants whose requests have been accepted will be informed by email and must provide the following for processing;
– Mission order from employer or authorizing officer
– Duly filled choice of matches
The accreditation window is already open and will be closed on 31 May 2019 at midnight.
After this deadline, no request will be taken into account by the CAF Communications Division.
