Nicosia: Registered unemployed rose by 1.5% in March 2026 compared with March 2025, according to the Statistical Service. Data kept at the District Labour Offices showed that the number of registered unemployed at the end of March stood at 11,243 persons, compared with 11,073 in March 2025.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Statistical Service stated that the annual increase was mainly attributed to accommodation and food service activities, professional, scientific and technical activities, and administrative and support service activities.
The largest numbers of registered unemployed in March 2026 were recorded in accommodation and food service activities, with 3,503 persons. This was followed by wholesale and retail trade, with 1,692 registered unemployed, and professional, scientific and technical activities, with 851.
