AS FAR are facing West African opposition at the CAF WCL for a third time, in 2021 they opened up their campaign with a 3-0 win over Rivers Angels of Nigeria. A game in which Sanaa Mssoudy scored a hat-trick to date the only player to do so at the finals, they also faced Ghanaian side Hasaacas Ladies in the Semi-finals a game they lost 2-1.
This game also represents the third time a team from West Africa faces the hosts club at the CAF WCL, in 2021 Wadi Degla defeated Malian side AS Mandé in their opening game 3-1 but drew 2-2 against Hasaacas Ladies in their final group game. A result which cost the hosts of going onto the last four.

The Liberian Champions come into the game on the back of two losses to Green Buffaloes (0-4) in their opening game and then another defeat to Simba Queens (0-2), in their second game.
Determine Girls are eliminated from the competition and will be unable to progress to the last four.
Determine Girls are looking to avoid becoming the first club to lose all three group games at the CAF WCL.
Should they fail to win Determine Girls will become the second club to fail to win a single game at their debut CAF WCL Finals, Malian club AS Mandé exited the 2021 competition with one draw from three group games (L2).
Having conceded six goals in their opening two games, Determine Girls have conceded the joint most number of goals by any team in their first two games at CAF WCL finals along with AS Mandé in 2021 and Wadi Degla at the current tournament.
Determine Girls are only the second team to fail to score any goals in their opening two games in their debut at the CAF WCL along with Rivers Angles in 2021, overall they are the third team along with Wadi Degla at the current competition to not score a goal after two games at the finals.
AS FAR

Moroccan champions AS FAR are through as Group Winners to the Semi-finals of the CAF WCL.
AS FAR have begun with successive wins over Simba Queens (1-0) and Green Buffaloes (2-1), they are aiming to become the first team to pass through the group stages with three successive wins.
A win would also see AS FAR become the first team to win three games in a row at a single CAF WCL finals.
Victory will see AS FAR win four games in succession at the CAF WCL Finals, they have won their last three games at the finals starting with their third place-play-off win against Malabo Kings in 2021, as well as two group games at the current tournament.
A win will see AS FAR win their fifth game at the CAF WCL Finals; they will become the second team along with Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies to win five games in open play at the finals over two editions. Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies have won five games in open play at the finals and another on penalties.
Should they avoid defeat AS FAR will become the third team at the finals to pass through the group stages without a loss, along with Hasaacas Ladies and Sundowns in 2021 who both won their opening two games and drew the other.
AS FAR have won two successive games at the CAF WCL for the first time, in 2021 an opening game triumph over Rivers Angels was followed by a loss to Vihiga Queens and a draw against Sundowns. They lost their Semi-final against Hasaacas Queens but won the third- place play-off game against Malabo Kings.
AS FAR are the first host club of the CAF WCL to reach the knockout stages, Egyptian club Wadi Degla were eliminated from the 2021 tournament at the group stages.
Their back- to- back wins in their opening two games is also the first time that a host club has won or gone undefeated through their first two group games or successive games at the CAF WCL Finals in general.
AS FAR’s 2-1 win in their last group game against Green Buffaloes was the first time a team at the CAF WCL has managed to come from a goal down to win a game, the only other occasions teams have managed to come from a losing position to gain a point at the finals. Was when Hasaacas Ladies twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Wadi Degla and Malabo Kings fought from a goal down to draw with AS Mandé in the final games in Group A in 2021.
Fatima Tagnaout scored a brace of spot kicks in AS FAR’s 2-1 win over Green Buffaloes she was the first player to score from the penalty spot for them at the finals, she was also the second player to score multiple goals for AS FAR in a single game at the finals. Along with Sanaâ Mssoudy who managed to net a hattrick against Rivers Angels in 2021.
Fatima Tagnaout with her goals in the game against Green Buffaloes became the first AS FAR player and player in general to score in two editions of the CAF WCL she also scored in their third- place game against Malabo Kings in 2021. Tagnaout has since been joined by Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies Melinda Kgadiete as the only two players to have scored at the 2021 and 2022 finals.
