Nyeri County Ready To Host Annual Scientific Conference

Nyeri County will host this year’s Annual Scientific Conference 2023, which will be held in Nyeri town between October 17 – 19. This is according to National Nurses Association of Kenya (NNAK) President Collins Ajwang, who noted the county will host the three-day conference, which will be attended by over 2,000 delegates. Speaking Thursday when the team paid a courtesy call to Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga and his Deputy Governor David Kinaniri, Ajwang said this after nurses overwhelmingly voted for the county to host the nurses since it is the best county with the best governor. He said the nurses voted for the county last year during a conference held in Bungoma town. Companies have also been invited to showcase their work during the conference, which will attract nurses from 47 counties. Ajwang added that the National Nurses Association of Kenya (NNAK) is a professional association representing all cadres of nurses in Kenya drawn from practice settings, education, and research institutions. ”It also promotes positive health practices through improved socio-economic security and the welfare of the nurses,’ said Ajwang. The team also lauded the governor for his continued support, including timely payment of salaries, personal emoluments, promotions, and regular training. While welcoming the delegates in the county, the governor further assured the nurses that his administration is committed to prioritizing the welfare of the healthcare workers in a bid to ensure that they work in a conducive environment as well as enable them to deliver quality healthcare services to Nyeri residents.
