Zanaco coach Mumamba Numba believes his side is capable of breaking Zambian clubs away jinx against Cameroonian opposition when they face Coton Sport in a Group D Day Four clash on Wednesday in Garoua.
In the past, the likes of Nkana, Mufulira Wanderers, Green Buffaloes and Zamsure left Cameroon with defeats, stretching back over four decades.
However, Zanaco, funded by the Zambia National Commercial Bank, head into the clash on the back of a 2-1 home win in the reverse two weeks ago in Lusaka.
The Zambia champions, unbeaten this term in the continental club championship, are tied on seven points with Group D leaders, Al Ahly of Egypt.
Coton Sport are yet to bag a point after three matches, but Numba has warned his charges against underrating the 2008 losing finalists, especially at their backyard, Roumde Adjia Omnisport Stadium in the northern Cameroonian city of Garoua.
We know how Coton Sport play. We know their system of play and that is why we want to finish them off on their turf.
This is an important game for us. We are going to attack them from the first whistle but we also have to be careful so that we do not expose our backline, said Numba.
Eight-time winners, Ahly travel to Casablanca as guests of Wydad Athletic Club of Moroccoin the other Group D match. Ahly beat the Moroccans 2-0 two weeks ago in Alexandria.
