New appearance by Minister for Transport

After concluding the debates on the draft Senate Institutional Declaration, the Minister for Transport, the Postal Service and Telecommunications, Rufino Ovono Ondo, supported by his immediate collaborators, appeared before the Plenary session of the Permanent Commission on Infrastructures, Transport and new Technologies on 10th March to clarify doubts and concerns resulting from the study in second reading of the Draft General Merchant Navy Law.

A total of twelve questions were put by members of the commission, led by the Minister, and accompanied by his Vice-Minister Hipólito Ondo Nvo Bela, and the Secre6tary of State, Charged with Transport, Carlos Ntutumu Ayi, among other figures from his department, based among other things on knowledge of the aims and scope of the Draft Merchant Navy Law, the definitions of certain terms in the legal instrument, the powers of the national and territorial maritime authorities, and the difference between the navigation and pavilion police.

The plenary session concluded with some instructions from the President of the Senate, Teresa Efua Asangono, to streamline and carry out the work within the established statutory periods.
