KENYA Commercial Bank women’s team fell 3-0 to GSP of Algeria in their opening match of the 2015 Africa Club Championship on Saturday evening at the October 6 hall in Cairo, Egypt.
The reigning Africa Club champions GSP who had lost their first match against Al Ahly of Egypt 1-3 (25-21, 25-17, 25-23,25-20) on Friday, recovered to rattle KCB 25-20, 25-14 and 25-10 at the championship that has attracted 13 clubs.
KCB last won the Africa club championship trophy in 1996.
The Kenya Volleyball Federation national league bronze medallists KCB are in a tricky pool “B” alongside GSP of Algeria and multiple champions Al Ahly of Egypt.

With the two wins, Pipeline top pool “C” with six points.
Other matches saw Revenue Authority Rwanda beat Saltigue of Senegal 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 5-14) in pool “A” that also has Sharm of Egypt.
Injis of Cameroon overwhelmed Arsu of Seychelles 3-1 (19-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-20) in pool “D” that also features Vision of Uganda and Carthage of Tunisia.
