Mamelodi Sundowns ended their CAF Women’s Champions League group stage campaign with a 4-0 bashing of TP Mazembe in Marrakech on Sunday and head coach Jerry Tshabalala is delighted about their perfect start.
After earlier 2-1 and 5-0 victories over Bayelsa Queens and Wadi Degla respectively, Sundowns only needed a draw to confirm their semi-final berth but the South Africans thrashed Marcello Kadiamba’s side to continue in their rich vein of ruthless form.
Having guaranteed their progression in style, the excited manager reflected on their healthy triumph over the Congolese.
“It was a very big game, we knew that as everybody was aiming to qualify. We needed to contain them in the first few minutes and tried to go at them and get a goal which resulted in a goal in the first twenty minutes,” Tshabalala told CAFOnline.com.
