After inspiring AS FAR to a perfect group stage winning record, Ghizlane Chhiri has revealed her desire to face off with Cup holders Mamelodi Sundowns in the semi-finals of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
The 28-year-old claimed the Woman of the Match award following her incredible contribution in the Moroccans 2-0 triumph over Determine Girls in their final Group A match at Stade Moulay Hassan in Rabat on Saturday.
“We are here to compete and beat the best. They [Mamelodi Sundowns] are the defending champions and we only want the cup to stay at home. I know it will be a great encounter between the two teams,”Chhiri said after picking up her accolades
An encounter between AS FAR and Sundowns will mark a rematch of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco, mostly dominated by stars of the Moroccan club and South Africa which was won by Banyana Bayana on the same ground.
A showdown with Sundowns is what Chhiri, who shone to claim the individual accolades following her superb performance against the Determine Girls, already dreams.
