Two of the suspects denied any involvement in the act. “The day that they caught them with the bones, I knew nothing. If I knew, why would I have gone to dig a bore hole there. I know nothing” Abdoulkadri Boukar aged 30, explained.

Hamamdou Hamidou, 25, also said he is innocent “I know nothing, it is Usman who brought it. He kept it in my room,” the second suspect disclosed.

The judicial police has said an investigation has been opened to determine the level of involvement of each of the suspects.

This is happening at a time when several other cases of human-bone trafficking have been reported in Douala. Previous arrests have involved more traffickers coming from the North West and West regions of the country.
