Tanzania youngster, Shaban Iddi Chilunda, became the first striker to score four goals in a match at the ongoing CECAFA- Kagame Cup by inspiring holders Azam to beat Rayon Sports of Rwanda 4-2 to reach the last four.
Chilunda was unstoppable as he completed a hat-trick in of 39 minutes of play at the National Stadium, Dar es Salaam on Monday evening.
The 2017 Tanzania Young Player of the Year headed Azam into the lead on 18 minutes converting a Ramadhan Singano corner before doubling his tally in the 33rd minute.
The youngster scored the third six minutes later a long range shot, but sealing victory with the fourth goal four minutes past the hour mark.
Chilunda leads the scorers chart of the regional competition with seven goals in four matches.
In the other quarter final match, the fairytale run of Tanzanian debutants Singida came to an end after JKU of Zanzibar edged them 4-3 on penalties, after both teams failed to score in 120 minutes.
The semis will take place on Wednesday, 11 July 2018 with Gor Mahia (Kenya) facing Azam (Tanzania) and Simba (Tanzania) against JKU (Zanzibar), both at the National Stadium, Dar es Salaam.
