CAF General Secretary Mosengo-Omba meets Egypt Minister of Youth and Sports Dr Sobhi

CAF General Secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba this week met with Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr Ashraf Sobhi during a courtesy visit to the Ministerial Offices in Cairo, Egypt.

During the visit, Mosengo-Omba conveyed a special message of thanks and appreciation from CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe to Minister Sobhi and Egyptian government for hosting the first ever CAF African Schools Football Championship Zonal Phase Qualifiers this past weekend in Cairo.

Last Friday, Dr Sobhi attended the opening day of the CAF African Schools Football Championship Zonal Qualifiers for the UNAF Region in Cairo.

Mosengo-Omba said: “I would like to thank Minister Sobhi for receiving us earlier today for a very good meeting. We also thank him for his commitment to CAF and his support to our programmes in particular the African Schools Football Championship. He has demonstrated, through his actions, that in him we have a good partner who is an ally in our efforts to develop football in Egypt and Africa.”
