ALGIERS-- The Algerian women's football team has qualified for the 2018 Africa Women's Cup of Nations tournament to be held in Ghana after beating Ethiopia 3-2 in a match played in Addis Ababa Sunday.
The goals were scored by Naima Bouhenni (19th minute), Fatima Sekouane (45th minute) and Meryam Benlazar (54th) while Ethiopian Geinor Loza Abers managed to score two goals (65th and 73rd minutes).
In the first leg played Wednesday at the 5 July Stadium in Algiers, the Algerian football team beat the Ethiopian team (3-1).
This is Algeria's fifth qualification for the Africa Women's Cup of Nations tournament following their participation in 2004 (South Africa), 2006 (Nigeria), 2010 (South Africa) and 2014 (Namibia).
The 13th Africa Women's Cup of Nations is scheduled for Nov 17 to Dec 1, in Ghana.
