Government To Support Kenyan Athletes In Realizing Their Full Potential


The Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said that the Government will support Kenyan athletes in realizing their full potential through the Talanta Hela initiative.

The Deputy President who spoke while attending Tinderet Barng`etuny Mountain Run National Championship in Tinderet constituency, Nandi County, disclosed that the Kenyan athletes will receive requisite support through the Talanta Hela Initiative in order to fully achieve their potential.

‘The Government will offer the Kenyan athletes full support through the Talanta Hela initiative in order to achieve their full potential,’ noted the deputy president.

The Deputy President praised the Kenyan athletes saying that they have been a great source of inspiration to many Kenyans because of their resilience and determination to emerge the best in the world.

‘Our athletes have for many years remained the shining light, they have inspired many Kenyans because of their resilience and determination to emerge the best in world. They are a perfect represen
tation of what hard work can deliver,’ said Rigathi.

The Deputy President lauded Tinderet Member of Parliament Julius Melly for organizing the mountain run adding that it is a perfect opportunity to nurture talent.

Gachagua also urged the County Commissioner of Nandi County Carolyne Mueni to tighten the fight against illicit brew in the County.

The Deputy President was accompanied by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, athletics Kenya chairman Jackson Tuwei, Principal Secretary Peter Tum, Nandi women representative Cynthia Muge, Aldai MP Maryanne Kitanny, Mosop Constituency MP Abraham Kirwa, Emgwen MP Josses Lelmengit, Nandi Hills MP Bernard Kitur, Kipkelion West MP Hillary Kosgei, Kipkelion East MP Joseph Cherorot and EALA MP Zipporah Kering.

Others who attended the occasion included Mountain Run chairman Peter Angwenyi, Chepsaita Marathon Patron Farouk Kibet, National Police Service Commission CEO Peter Lelei, Nandi County Assembly Speaker Philemon Melly, Nandi County Commissioner Carolyne Mueni among
other political leaders.
